Hear From Former and Current LHJA Members

As a former junior member of the LHJA, I enjoyed being part of an organization focused on the success of both the horse and the rider. The support the LHJA provided at horse shows and recognizing rider accomplishments with end of the year awards were core memories from my youth. Now, as an adult with a young child in the sport, I appreciate even more all that the LHJA offers year around and the volunteers behind the organization who selflessly give their time and talents. I’m honored to be a part of it once again.

Jennifer Hart McLaughlin

Being on the LHJA board as an adult has been so special for me. This is the organization that allowed me to dream big and aim high as a junior rider. When I go to local shows and see new and returning members growing in the horse world it makes me incredibly proud to be a part of this association. I love that we have such a wonderful group of trainers, board members, riders and owners that encourage our united love for horses. I especially enjoy the annual meetings where ideas are shared for how to continue to grow the association and expand within or local communities.

Leah Bartlett

I'm so grateful for our local organization LHJA! It helps get everyone excited from beginners well into people who have been riding their entire life. The camaraderie of the sport is important, it is not fun to do this alone. Plus you get to track your progress with points!

Brittany DeSalvo

The LHJA has been a great organization for bringing along my younger students. The access they provide to local schooling shows has given them confidence and experience they need to be successful at the competitive regional shows. I’m grateful that the LHJA recognizes the student’s success at each show, As well as, at the year end banquet with perfectly curated awards to encourage further their support for the LHJA.

Amanda Wilson

The LHJA is a wonderful association. The ability to start young kids and move them through the ranks in such a positive atmosphere is so beneficial. We’ve had wonderful support along with great year end prizes which really motivates the riders to do their best.

Meghan Felts

LHJA has been an invaluable resource for me and my horse in Louisiana. Their dedication to supporting hunters and jumpers statewide is truly remarkable. The events they organize are top-notch, providing both competitive opportunities and a supportive comm unity for riders of all levels. Thanks to LHJA, my horse and I have grown immensely, both in skill and in our love for the sport. I highly recommend LHJA to any equestrian looking to thrive in Louisiana'a vibrant hunter and jumper scene.
